Xanthan Gum is a high molecular weight polysaccharide produced by fermentation of a carbohydrate with Xanthomonas campestris.

Description

Xanthan gum is used for filtration control in all types of water base drilling fluids ranging from fresh to salt saturated waters. It also has shale inhibitive characteristics. It meets or exceeds API 13A specifications. Its thermal stability is up to 150℃. 

Application

Used as thickener and suspending agent in drilling fluids, fracturing and oil-displacing agent. It has obvious effects on speeding up drilling, preventing well collapse, protecting oil and gas reservoirs, substantially increasing oil recovery rates, and preventing well blowouts, etc.
